EMILIENNE NIENABER SOUTH AFRICAN WILDLIFE ARTIST |
Emilienne Nienaber was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) of French speaking Belgian parents and at an early age returned to her parentsÆ country of birth. In Belgium she attended the Academie des BeauxÆart where she learned the trade of draughtsman. After completion of her studies the artist returned to Zambia (formerly Northern Rhodesia) in Africa where she met her husband. The Nienabers decided to move to South Africa where the artist practised her trade for thirty years. |

After her husband passed away, Nienaber took up painting as a hobby. She shows a special interest in wildlife as she came into close contact with wild animals during her stay in Zambia and the Congo. Working on commission, she also specialises in landscapes. The preferred medium is pastel on paper but the artist is also adept at doing oil paintings. Price: US$255 per painting. Currency table. |
